RISONARE Kohamajima Accommodation Experience | A private resort stay on a remote island surrounded by tranquility and nature

Further south from the main island of Okinawa, Kohama Island can be accessed by boat from Ishigaki Island. Surrounded by abundant nature and tranquility, there is a resort where you can truly relax.

This time we will introduce "Risonare Kohamajima," where all rooms are suites. A stay that allows you to escape from everyday life and surrender yourself to island time has come true.

Enjoy a relaxing stay in our all-suite rooms

The Ambassador Suite I booked this time is a spacious space with a white and blue interior, creating a space that is both open and refreshing. What is most striking is the colorful art that covers the entire wall. It exudes a sense of playfulness while also creating an extraordinary resort-like atmosphere.

There is a large daybed by the window. You can read in the morning while soaking up the sunlight, or spend the evening quietly listening to the sound of the waves. It is such a comfortable place that you might find yourself spending the whole day there.

And one thing worth mentioning is the sauna in the guest room.
It's a genuine Finnish-made bath with an outdoor bathing space, allowing you to spend a luxurious time relaxing in your own room. The great thing about it is that you can enjoy it as many times as you like without having to worry about anyone else.

Enjoy the resort atmosphere at the lagoon pool and beach

There are two pools on the premises, the most impressive of which is the lagoon pool.
The cobalt blue water reflects the blue of the sky and the surrounding greenery, creating a scene that truly makes you want to call it "the resort." The pool is spacious enough that you can spend your time however you like, whether it's a leisurely swim or relaxing on a deck chair by the water.

Although the hotel's private beach is a little far away, renting an electric kick scooter exclusively for guests and riding through the greenery is a pleasant experience.
Seasonal flowers were in full bloom along the way, allowing us to enjoy contact with nature even before we reached the beach.

There is also a pool in front of the beach, which seems to be popular with families with children.
If you prefer a quieter experience, the lagoon pool is the better option.

A special seat for the Kohama Blue, with the sea breeze reflected in the glass

The Spectacular Seaside Beer Garden, designed to blend seamlessly into the blue waters of Yaeyama, is the pride of RISONARE Kohamajima, a summer-only "sea lounge." High chairs are lined up in the shallows that appear only at low tide, allowing you to toast with your toes in the cool ocean water, a veritable "beachside counter." Surrounded by the sounds of the waves and the sea breeze, it's a blissful experience with the Kohama blue all to yourself.

Restaurants where you can enjoy local ingredients and tips for making reservations

The hotel has a buffet-style restaurant where breakfast is mainly healthy. The soft serve ice cream made with brown sugar is so delicious that you'll want to eat it even in the morning.

Please note that reservations are required for both morning and evening meals.
We recommend making reservations early, especially during busy periods. If you're staying for multiple nights, combining your stay with a restaurant outside the hotel can be a great way to change things up. Kohama Island has many appealing local restaurants, so doing some research beforehand will help you have a more fulfilling stay.

A variety of gentle activities to spend time in nature

There are plenty of activities available to help you experience nature during your stay. From marine sports like SUP and snorkeling to stargazing and guided tours of the island, we were able to enjoy island time at a relaxed pace.

You can also spend some quiet time with a book in the beachside library space.
The facility's design, which is in harmony with nature, will enrich your stay.

Summary: A tropical hideaway where tranquility and luxury coexist

My stay at RISONARE Kohamajima was a peaceful and high-quality experience that relaxed all five senses.

A suite room filled with a sense of privacy, a lagoon pool where the sea, sky, and greenery blend together, and sauna time that will warm your soul... There may be no better place to pamper yourself in between busy days.

Away from everyday life, spending time quietly with nature.
This is a resort that is a must-visit for anyone looking for such a trip.
