What is an electronic arrival card ?

- From October 2025, paper entry cards will be abolished and online applications will be mandatory .
・Registration is free. Be careful of sites that charge fees other than the official site.
・You can register up to three days before your arrival. If you register earlier than that, your registration will be invalid, so it is best to register two to three days before your departure.
・If you register, immigration inspection will proceed smoothly , significantly reducing waiting time on the day of your trip.

What you need to apply for a Taiwan Arrival Card

To make the registration process go more smoothly, please prepare the following items in advance:

1. Passport information and photo page contents (number, expiration date, etc.)
- Check that the expiration date is at least 6 months

2. Flight information , arrival flight number, expected arrival date, departure and arrival airport names

3. Accommodation information : Hotel name, address, phone number (reservation confirmation is useful)

4. You will receive a notification of your email address and registration completion.

Application steps

1. Access the official website
https://twac.immigration.gov.tw

2. Change the language to "Japanese"
Click "ENGLISH" in the upper right corner of the screen and select "Japanese."
English is displayed by default, so if you are uncomfortable with English, switch to Japanese.

3. Click on the blue "Register Arrival Card"

4. Check the precautions and click "START"

5. Enter your email address and click "Send verification code."
We will verify your email address to ensure that the application is being carried out by you.

6. Enter the "Verification Code" sent to your email and click "Verify."
If you are unable to enter the code within 10 minutes, you will need to resend the code.
If you can't find the email, please check your spam folder.
・You can enter the 6-digit code in all uppercase or all lowercase.

6. Enter your passport information and click "Next"
When you upload an image of your passport using "Upload Passport," each field will be automatically filled in. If some fields are not properly loaded and cannot be filled in, you will need to fill them in manually.

[POINT]
If you are using automatic entry by uploading your passport, the "Expiration Date" and "Date of Birth" fields will not be entered in the correct format. Correct them in the order of day/month/year.
Example: Before modification: 20251101 → After modification : 01/11/2025

4. Enter your travel information and click "Next"

5. Check the entered information, check the box to agree, and then click "Next"

6. Check the registration completion screen <br>Your registration details will be sent to you by email.
There is no need to print it, but if you save a screenshot of the email, you will be safe in case your Wi-Fi connection does not work properly when you arrive.

What if I forget to apply online in advance?

・Even if you forget to register online, you can register on the day at the terminals in the immigration area of ​​the local airport .
