After an unexpected long journey from Malaysia to Thailand, we finally arrived at the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa . The warm welcome made us forget the fatigue of our long journey, and our expectations for our stay grew.
Located on the beachfront of Koh Samui, this five-star resort is part of the Marriott chain and is a haven for adults, offering a luxurious escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, surrounded by the sea and greenery. This blog will once again share a real-life experience of staying there.

Thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy ambassador benefits, I was able to be upgraded to two different room types during my stay. Each room had its own unique charm, making it a truly luxurious experience.
High-floor tower room | Exclusive panoramic views like a painting
Because it was peak season, the villas were fully booked, but we were upgraded to a room on a high floor in the tower building. The moment we opened the door, we were greeted by a panoramic view of the tropical greenery, the blue ocean, and the sparkling pool.
Stepping out onto the balcony, the fresh sea breeze and the chirping of birds fill your senses, giving you the illusion of being lost in a painting. The spacious 51m² space is hard to believe for a standard category room, and the flow of traffic is comfortable and extremely cozy.
What was particularly impressive was the open design that led from the shower room to the bathtub on the balcony. As the sun set, I sank into the bathtub and enjoyed the exquisite moment of gazing at the orange-hued sea and sky. This moment was the true joy of a resort stay.
Private Pool Villa | Experience the ultimate in your own private paradise
During the second half of our stay, we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a villa with a pool, which we had always wanted. As soon as we opened the gate, the spacious terrace and private pool caught our eye, and we felt as if we had stepped into our own private paradise.
The pool is compact, but just the right size for two people to relax in. Pool time in the quiet morning air was an irreplaceable luxury.
The high ceilings create a sense of openness within the room, and the white canopy bed stands out against the wood-like interior, creating a sophisticated space. The living room is comfortable with a large sofa, and you can relax surrounded by natural light. There is also a desk, making it suitable for workation. The bathroom is equipped with double sinks, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious stay.
Two pools offering different luxurious experiences
The resort has two distinctive pools, each with its own unique charm that will add to your stay.
Beachfront infinity pool
Basking in the strong afternoon sun, we headed to the beachfront infinity pool. As we leaned over the edge of the pool, the endless blue ocean stretched out before us.
The sound of the waves and the surface of the pool overlap, creating a sense of the boundaries disappearing - this is the magic that only an infinity pool can offer. Sinking into the gazebo, time flows slowly, and just reading or taking a nap is a moment that makes you truly feel glad to have come here.
A 50-meter pool enveloped in silence
On the other hand, the 50-meter outdoor pool located at the back has a different charm. Whenever I visit, there are few people around, and it feels like a luxurious pool just for me. It is large enough to make up for my lack of exercise and allows me to enjoy a full-scale swim.
Sightseeing is great, but simply swimming like this feels like the ultimate luxury - this was a special place that made me realize that.

The picturesque panorama from the tower room, the luxurious morning time in the private pool, and the different charms of the two pools - in this paradise surrounded by sea and greenery, we were able to forget about time and enjoy a special time in which we could face ourselves.
Although the journey began with unexpected trouble, the time we spent here at last was such a valuable experience that it made us forget all our troubles. Renaissance Koh Samui is a warm and inclusive resort that gently soothes the soul tired from the hustle and bustle of the city.
